Blogging is Booming!
By popular demand, a special 2-hour PEG workshop on blogging will be held Wednesday, December 17 from 6.30-8.30pm. Marty Dickinson with HereNextYear.com, CAL's September speaker, will present. This workshop is limited to 20 people and the cost is only $15.
According to Marty, "The secret to a successful blog is following a checklist of implementation steps over time. How fast you go through those steps is up to you."
A blog can put YOU in the driver's seat allowing you to add and edit posts and pages whenever you want, without being a web designer or programmer. In fact, if you can use Microsoft Word, you can learn to blog in minutes.
Specifically, Marty will present:
-
An overview of why a blog is the perfect replacement for most traditional websites and the best way to promote your business, book, or product or service.
-
What blogs are most successful and why.
-
Basic setup issues in getting started -Using essential plug-ins and free services to automate your promotion.
-
How to get any blog post to appear on Google within hours or minutes of publishing it.
-
How to integrate audio and video into your posts.
-
When to begin building a following of blog subscribers and what you have to have in place to do it.
-
How to monetize your blog and get paid for your writing efforts.
-
What the pros are doing today to expand into using social media in tandem with blog posts such as Twitter, MySpace, Squidoo and others...and how you can do it too!
This is hands-on. Marty will be working from his laptop to a projector and screen so that we can all visually follow-along. BRING YOUR LAPTOP so that you can be logged on and ready to go--my house is wireless.
This session is the perfect follow-up to the one that Leslie Petrovski presented last month.
